Hope Haven Gospel Mission
Our Impact
Meeting the needs of the individuals that come through our doors and serving as the hands and feet of Jesus is the driving force behind this ministry. Hope Haven certainly has a faithful, committed foundation of generous donors, which is evident not just in the accounting office but in all areas of the shelter. The support of caring neighbors helps to make a real and lasting impact in the lives of the men, women, and children we serve. Friends and neighbors from all over central Maine stop in to donate food, clothing, household goods, supplies, and even their valuable time, to help those in our community who need it most. Because of the support we receive from the community and even from beyond the borders of Lewiston/Auburn, we can continue providing much-needed assistance to the hungry, homeless, and underserved.

Providing Nourishment
Over 2,000 meals are served in our soup kitchen to residents and neighbors every month. Our food pantry is also a source of food for many in our community. We are grateful to all of the vendors, grocery stores, local growers, and individuals who provide food for Hope Haven's soup kitchen and food pantry.

Giving Shelter
Our 32-bed shelter is at capacity most nights. 11,680 bed nights are provided every year. We serve men, women, and mothers with children, providing for basic needs, clothing, baby items, school supplies for school-aged children, work clothing, and more.

Food Pantry & Clothing
Over 100 families are served through our Giveaway Center each week. Vistors can obtain food, clothing, and household items from Hope Haven at absolutely no charge. Our donors are continuously faithful to provide gently used items to us because we do not resell them to the community.

We would like to thank the National Honor Society at Lewiston High School for all their hard work and dedication in assisting their community. Through their support and outreach, we have been able to supply the destitute and homeless with needed supplies to help them to facilitate an easier existence.

We would like to thank our volunteers for their assistance in serving and delivering 116 meals. Thank you all for taking time out of your Christmas to assist in providing meals to the community,.

We would like to thank the Lewiston Fire Department for their continued contribution to our Christmas give away, and for their dedication and hard work.

We would like to thank the Vinyard Church Youth Group in Mechanic Falls for their donation of backpacks.

We would like to thank all donors for their donations, as they made it possible to add this generator to our building. We would also like to thank DeBloise Electric Inc, for all the work that they did. This generator powers the entire building, if the neighborhood loses power during a storm we will still be in operation. Thank you all.

Good morning local friends. As you are aware, we are dealing with the aftermath of a recent fire here at Hope Haven. While the fire damage was minimal, the water damage was not, and our Giveaway Center ceiling was damaged. The power must remain off until repairs are made and the electric in the area is deemed safe. Unfortunately we were forced to close the clothing closet portion of our Giveaway Center until the power is restored and the ceiling is repaired. This will take some time, as they will start at the top and work their way down.
With great reluctance, we are asking our donors to redirect donations of clothing, household items, etc. to other agencies that could use those items. Our coffers are completely full, and we run the risk of overcrowding and creating fire-code violations if we receive any more. We hope that you understand that otherwise we would be most grateful to receive your donations, and will receive them again as soon as our Giveaway Center is operational and we move some items from our storage area. Please contact our office should you have any questions, and as always, thank you for supporting Hope Haven!
